Deliverable 6: Regional Workshops Proceedings

Authors: J.M. Berland, I. Glekas, M. Abou-Rayan, A. Bouzid, C. Tabbal, M. Haddad, K. Kherraz, A. Affia

The Deliverable presents the main outcomes of a series of workshops organized by INECO within the framework of WP5 of the project. These events were a crucial step in the overall effort undertaken by INECO, to promote the establishment of multi-stakeholder fora and enable a constructive dialogue process on what the real water management problems are and how these could be addressed in a desired and commonly agreed (integrated) water resources management situation. Furthermore, the workshops aimed at strengthening the alliance among the members of the project team and local stakeholders, and provide a platform for the exchange of knowledge and ideas on problems currently faced by local decision-makers and water users.

As such, this document is a synthesis of regional analyses undertaken in previous stages of the project, on the overall institutional organization of the water sector, policy making mechanisms and issues related to the governing, sharing and valuing dimensions of the water management issues that constitute the focus of the INECO Case Studies.
