Roundtable on policy development towards increased eco-efficiency and industrial symbiosis

The event took place in Brussels on December 10th, at the “Bouche à Oreille” (11 Rue Félix Hap). The registration started at 9:30 am, and the discussion was held from 10:00 until 13:00; lunch was offered upon the completion of the meeting.

The event is organized in cooperation with the Directorate Resource Efficiency, Unit I2 Eco-innovation, DG Research & Innovation, European Commission. The setting of the meeting is medium-scale, to allow in-depth discussion on policy objectives and developments.

The roundtable aims to share and discuss EcoWater results and their policy implications with a wider audience of policymakers and actors in the European research community. The specific issues that will be addressed include:

  • Experiences and Challenges from the eight EcoWater Case Studies, which assess the environmental influences and economic value added from technology/innovation uptake across the water chain in the urban, agricultural and industrial water use sectors;
  • An in-depth discussion on policy scenarios for water use systems with emphasis on resource efficiency, pollution prevention, and circular economy, towards a clearer view on supporting the adoption of systemic approaches through policy instruments.

You can register for the event here. Please note that there are no participation/registration fees.
