The Project will organize up to 2 workshops in each Case Study Implementation area, pursuing the active involvement of all relevant actors and of the private sector in particular.
The 1st series of events, which will be held towards the end of the 1st year of the Project, will be aimed at its introduction to local audiences. It will be dedicated to:
-
Demonstrating the relevance of the Project approach in supporting local policy decisions and actions and obtain feedback on work already undertaken at the Case Studies, in relation to value chain mapping and baseline eco-efficiency assessments;
-
Consolidating the applicability of the employed approach, particularly with regard to economic assessments, and the consideration of the interactions among the different economic actors involved;
-
Jointly deciding on a series of environmental technologies that should be assessed through the Project.
The 1st series of Case Study Workshops was implemented between M1 and M18 and included the following events
-
Case Study #2 (Monte Novo irrigation scheme, Portugal). More information can be found here.
-
Case Study #1 (Sinistra Ofanto irrigation scheme, Italy). More information can be found here.
-
Case Study #8 (Volvo automotive industry, Sweden). More information can be found here.
As the Workshop of Case Study #8 will be held in M17, the focus of the two Workshops should emphasize on the presentation of results on baseline eco-efficiency assessment, and the detailing of new technologies / innovations applicable to each Case Study.
The 2nd series of events will be dedicated to the presentation of the final EcoWater outcomes to local audiences, focusing on scenario analysis outcomes, potential eco-efficiency improvements in the studied systems, and identified barriers to technology uptake, particularly in the private/use sectors. Factors that shape socio-technical dynamics within the context of each Case Study and ways in which these can be influenced by local societies will be extensively discussed, in an effort to initiate local dialogue that will continue beyond the EcoWater timespan.
The 2nd series of Case Study Workshops will be implemented between M19 and M36. The following events have been already organized:
-
Case Study #7 (Dairy Industry, Denmark). More information can be found here.
