Two EcoWater Case Studies concern urban water systems and focus on issues and technologies associated with:

• More sustainable and economically efficient water supply and wastewater management
• Water conservation 
• Resource separation
• Cleaner production in SMEs

Two distinct paths are analysed in the urban water management setting: the utility-customer-utility and utility-business (SME)-utility paths, in order to incorporate the different economic values associated with water use and assess opportunities and barriers for the uptake of innovations.
