The Volvo Group is considered as one of the leading suppliers of commercial transport solutions.
There are numerous industrial plants of the Volvo Group around Sweden, while the products that the company supplies include trucks, buses, construction equipment, drive systems for marine and industrial applications, as well as aircraft engine components.
During the manufacturing process, many steps involve water usage, including surface finishing and painting applications, and result in wastewater which needs to be treated to high standards to meet environmental regulations.
As the manufacturing sites of Volvo are located in several different regions, the Case Study will not be limited to the level of an individual industrial plant, in order to take into account as fully as possible, potential effects on water systems and local water management settings.
