The aim of Work Package 5 is to integrate the developed analytical framework, indicators and Case Study results, into different outputs to ensure their application beyond EcoWater, in terms of analysing the dynamics of water systems and sectors of water use.
The Work Package objectives are:
-
The development of step-wise consolidated guidelines for meso-level eco-efficiency analysis across different systems and use sectors, deriving lessons learned from the implementation of Case Studies to suit decision-making needs in different contexts
-
The identification of the external drivers and factors that affect technology and innovation uptake, and the coherent presentation of secondary economic and societal impacts and enabling conditions, focusing particularly on consumption patterns
-
The development of a publicly available suite of tools and resources for meso-level eco-efficiency assessments in different systems, and technology benchmarking, providing access to an integrated environment for the undertaking of similar analyses
-
The elaboration of policy recommendations for technology and innovation uptake, emphasizing on different instruments, pertinent socio-technical dynamics, overall economic impacts and sustainability improvements in the analysed water use settings.
The main output from this Work Package will be an integrated, web-based toolbox, which will contain the resources and tools necessary for developing meso-scale eco-efficiency assessments of different technologies. In addition, the Work Package will produce consolidated, step-wise guidelines for future assessments, as well as policy recommendations, based on Case Study results and cross-case comparison.
