EnvMed



The EnvMed project [CD_JEP-31055-2003] is funded by the European Commission, Directorate General Education and Culture, in the framework of the Tempus Programme.

The project is implemented by the Faculty of Engineering of Mansoura University (Egypt) in collaboration with the Environmental & Energy Management Research Unit of the School of Chemical Engineering of National Technical University of Athens (Greece) and the Urban Water Technology Centre of University of Abertay Dundee (Scotland). 

The EnvMed project is designed to promote the renewal and reform of the higher education system of Egypt in the area of Environmental Engineering, Technology and Management. The main outcome of the project will be the establishment of a new postgraduate MSc Degree programme Environmental Engineering, Technology and Management in Mansoura University. Through the introduction of modern, student-based teaching approaches and the improvement of courses quality using information technology and modern equipment, the overall aim of the project will be the formulation of a model MSc course.

One of the outputs of the project is also The Environmental Portal. The main scope of the portal is to promote the collaboration and exchange of knowledge and ideas between teaching staff and students on environmental issues in Egypt. The goal of the portal development is to act as a contact and information exchange point for curriculum development in Egyptian higher education institutions.
