This section presents the results of the survey which formed part of the workshop organized by INECO in Afourer, Morocco, on March 21st 2008. The survey aimed at collecting views and personal experience from workshop participants on the current practices in irrigated agriculture, as well as ways to address administrative and/or institutional deficiencies, and possible options for enhancing efficiency in irrigation water use in the Oum Er Rbia Hydraulic Basin.
The presentation of the survey results is structured in two parts:
-
Part I deals with the mapping the importance of water stress-related issues, and collecting respondents' views on the possible causes.
-
Part II concerns possible objectives and alternative institutional and economic instruments that could be applied for enhancing efficiency in irrigation water use.
