Improving the operability of economic instruments and technological adoption that provide the link between economic imperatives of increasing income (and/or competitiveness) and environmental concerns, with the objective to re-center water productivity on: ensuring farm income (or biomass production) and – in the same time - ensure a real reduction of water withdrawal. 
 
Activity 3
Estimate the impact of water pricing on the socio-economic viability of agricultural water management options (water use efficiency, equity and sustainability, water productivity, quality management).

The area that has been selected for implementing the “Flumendosa” case study resulted not equipped with any monitoring station for river flow: this parameter is important for calibrating /validating hydrological simulation model to be applied.
