The INECO Web Toolbox has been designed as an easy-to-use knowledge base on the application of institutional and economic instruments for improved water management. The Toolbox brings together a database on potential institutional and economic responses and a library of cases and references that can be used to illustrate ways through which such responses can be adapted to help address diverse water management issues.
The Toolbox also provides access to a suite of tools aimed at supporting participative planning and decision-making, such as visioning, problem analysis, definition of policy objectives, analysis and evaluation of options. These tools have been applied to different case studies within the framework of the EC-funded INECO project in a process ultimately aiming to reach consensus on what the real water management problems are and how these could be addressed in a desired water management situation. Results from this process can be accessed using the Case Study menu on the left. Registered users can obtain access to the offered suite tools for implementing their own Case Studies and group discussions.
